The Catholic school’s purpose is found in the very purpose of the Catholic Church – evangelization – the proclaiming the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ to all. The Catholic school is the place where the entire human person is formed in the faith and educated in human knowledge in an integral manner. Catholic schools are called to be both communities of faith and communities of learning, to help students both know and love Jesus, and to acquire human knowledge and skills.
At Blessed Sacrament, we believe that to be truly “Alive in Christ”, an excellent and authentic Catholic faith formation program is guided and driven by a clearly communicated mission that fosters a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, strengthens Catholic identity, is rooted in the Gospel and the New Evangelization, is centered on the Eucharist, and is committed to truth, community, and service. An excellent and authentic Catholic faith formation program provides comprehensive religious studies and catechesis in the Catholic faith that integrates faith, culture, and life in all aspects of the program as well as provides opportunities, both inside and outside the classroom, for students to deepen their personal relationship with Jesus Christ, grow in knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith, experience a genuine community of faith, participate in liturgical and communal prayer, and serve through acts of charity and social justice.
